Senior "Citizen" Prom Success
Planning, Prom, and Progress: Rotary’s Ongoing Commitment to Community

As summer moves into its final stretch, the Rotary Club of Fayetteville is full of gratitude for the progress we made in July—and excited for all that’s on the horizon in August. From leadership transitions to community events, our club has been actively living out Rotary’s mission of Service Above Self.

July in Review

Senior Citizen Prom Planning
Much of July was dedicated to preparing for one of our most anticipated annual events: the Senior Citizen Prom. From collecting raffle donations to confirming décor and music, our members worked behind the scenes to ensure every detail was just right. The effort and enthusiasm poured into this event reflected the heart of our club—community first.

Leadership Transition
This month marked the start of a new Rotary year. We were proud to officially welcome Vickie Butler as our 2025–2026 Club President. With her leadership, we’re confident in a strong year ahead. We also installed new officers and board members, each stepping up with fresh ideas and energy.

Club Growth & Public Image
We welcomed two new members in July and continued sharing our story on social media, highlighting both our service work and fellowship. Building a visible, connected presence remains a top priority for our club.

August Preview

Senior Citizen Prom – August 2 at Flat Creek
Our 4th annual Senior Citizen Prom, themed “Let’s Do It Again,” took place on August 2nd at Flat Creek Country Club. Seniors aged 65 and older attended free, and all proceeds benefited the Friends of the Fayette County Public Library. The event featured dancing, dinner, and the crowning of a Prom King and Queen—a beautiful night honoring the legacy of our senior community.

Library Partnership Continues
Our support of the Fayette County Public Library doesn’t end with prom night. In August, we’ll be exploring additional opportunities to volunteer and contribute to literacy and lifelong learning initiatives.

District Engagement & Membership Summit
We’re looking ahead to the District 6900 Membership Summit, which provides tools, inspiration, and connection for club growth. We encourage members to participate and represent Fayetteville Rotary proudly.

Fall Planning Begins
August also kicks off planning for our fall service projects and fellowship events. If you have ideas or want to get more involved, this is a great time to jump in!

Final Thoughts

July showed us the power of preparation, collaboration, and momentum. August is our opportunity to carry that energy forward—to serve, connect, and grow even more. Whether you're a long-time Rotarian or a new face around the table, thank you for being part of the journey.

We look forward to what’s next—and we’re so glad to do it together.
